Quality Assurance for OEM Metal Products: Foshan ATA METAL Material Testing Verification
Foshan ATA Factory has been producing OEM metal products for over ten years.
Quality assurance for OEM metal products is neccessary. Our products including specific-equipment-used oven racks, drying trays, air fryer pots accessories, etc. Most of them need come into contact with food.
Due to the clients’ requirements, the material composition and food contact safety of similar products produced on the Foshan ATA production line will undergo corresponding testing and verification.
– Material Testing and Verification
Material testing can be used to verify whether the specific material parameters of a product meet the project or relevant requirements.
Taking a grill sample previously submitted by ATA METAL for SGS testing as an example, the material of the sample was declared by the customer as 304 stainless steel in the report. SGS conducted a test for total chromium content, and the result was 17.86% (w/w), meeting the reported limit requirement of ≥16%. The test conclusion is PASS.
This report pertains to the specific submitted sample and the designated testing items. Its results can demonstrate that the total chromium content of the sample complies with the relevant requirements referenced in this test.

– Food Contact Safety Verification
For metal products that may come into direct or indirect contact with food, merely confirming some components of the material is insufficient to cover actual usage conditions.
Due to clients’ requirements, depending on the product’s application and relevant requirements, it may also be necessary to assess the migration of metal elements under specific food contact environments.
In another SGS test report from 2014, a metal mesh frame underwent specific heavy metal migration testing in accordance with the European Commission’s CM/Res(2013)9 requirements.
The test used a 0.5% citric acid aqueous solution as a food simulant, conducted at 100°C for 4 hours, and measured the migration of various metal elements including chromium, nickel, lead, and cadmium.
The report included multiple migration tests, with the final conclusion being PASS.
Such tests are primarily used to evaluate the release of elements from metal products under simulated food contact conditions and can serve as part of the safety verification for food contact materials.

– Third-Party Testing in Quality Assurance for OEM Metal Products
Different OEM projects vary in terms of product use, material requirements, target markets, and customer standards; therefore, the corresponding inspection items and testing conditions need to be determined based on actual requirements.
Third-party testing organizations such as SGS can provide independent test results for specified samples and testing items, offering an objective basis for material parameter confirmation and food contact safety verification.
Based on the test results of products previously submitted by ATA METAL, the related metal products are able to meet the corresponding requirements under the specified testing conditions.
These actual test records also demonstrate that we have a certain quality control foundation in material selection, product manufacturing, and project execution for food contact metal products.
For new OEM projects, specific testing still needs to be determined individually according to product use, target market, and customer requirements.
For OEM manufacturing, this type of third-party testing is more suitable as a verification step within the quality assurance process.
If your project has special testing requirements, please feel free to discuss them with us!
